Daily Prompt: Mix Tape

by michelle w. on December 11, 2012

Put together a a musical playlist of songs that describe your life, including what you hope your future entails.

Oh, Michelle, you let me have more fun than I should be allowed.

Anyone who is not a fan of The B-52’s can do one of the following things:

1. Stop reading right now, because the rest of this won’t make any sense, but thank you for dropping by

~OR~

2. Click HERE to be seduced by the infectious awesomeness of America’s favorite party band.

On with the playlist:

Anyone who knows me has wondered more than once if I’m from

Planet Claire

Since birth it seems, I’ve been living in my own

Private Idaho

For a time, I was kind of wild, did some driving on

Dirty Back Roads

Because I had a

Devil In My Car

And in my youth, I was also a member of

The Deadbeat Club

But age has mellowed me some, and being reflective has  caused me to take a

Detour Through Your (my) Mind

A few years ago, I went through a rediscovery process, and threw off the shackles of impending geezerdom, embracing the ideas in the song

Juliet Of The Spirits (No more neurosis)

Since reconnecting with my one true love, I make sure he gets a

Whammy Kiss

as often as I can give him one.

It’s really something to feel that kind of love.  It seems to bond you with the universe, and other new agey bullshit, like the song

Revolution Earth

What do I want for my future?  To retain my optimism, and have this song played at my funeral:

She Brakes For Rainbows
